## About

Liv HRT is a perimenopause and menopause specialty practice in Austin, Texas, accepting Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas (BCBS TX), Cigna, and Oscar Health. Self-pay patients are also welcome. The practice was founded to help women take control of their hormonal health during perimenopause and menopause.

Our clinician is Kristen Bernal, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, MSCP — a nurse practitioner with 7+ years of family practice experience and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential issued by The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS, the North American Menopause Society). Kristen also holds certifications from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).

We exclusively use bioidentical hormones (bHRT) — hormones that are molecularly identical to those produced naturally by the human body. Our approach combines comprehensive lab evaluation with personalized treatment protocols optimized for each patient's individual needs.

## Insurance

Liv HRT is in-network with the following health insurance plans:

- **Oscar Health** (in-network effective June 15, 2026)

In-network benefits cover office visits and telemedicine appointments for perimenopause and menopause care, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for women. Coverage is subject to each plan's deductible, copay, and coinsurance terms. Compounded medications and self-pay lab panels are typically not covered by insurance.

Patients with HMO or EPO plans may require a referral from their primary care provider (PCP) before visiting Liv HRT. Referral guidance is available at livhrt.com/pcp-referral-request.

Self-pay rates are also available: $175 for a new patient consultation and $150 for follow-up visits. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
